I received a new email about the new version of radio messenger and thought I’d give it a try again. I’m trying to interface my iPad to my tone D8 78 using an AIOC adapter. Although the iPad can hear the radio’s audio it is not activating the PTT.
I have read an earlier posts that this has been a problem and that it should send out a tone to make the radio transmit. Although looking through all the configuration settings, I am not able to find a virtual PTT switch to turn on in order to use this. Just curious if there is a document that I missed? I’d really like to start using the software again to use win link.
Thank you. I was able to find this helpful information since I didnot see where to configure this in the RadioMail software…
It’s not in RadioMail itself — it’s a firmware setting on the AIOC device, configured through a separate browser-based tool called AIOC Utility (aioc-util.tf3hr.net), built by TF3HR. The tool requires a browser with WebHID support — Chrome or Edge 89+ — and needs to be accessed over HTTPS or localhost. That means this is a one-time setup step done on a laptop/desktop, not something you do from your iPhone or inside the RadioMail app.
I now have the software configured and it now transmits on my HD! However, when I monitor the packet frequency from another radio when the HT transmits all I hear is the 1kHz tone.
Although it keys up strong and steady while trying to connect to a WinLink node just down the street, all I hear is the application key up the radio and send the 1kHz tone.
I’m wondering if I’m missing something and need to configure the audio to use two channels or tell it which channel to put the audio on? I did see where you can toggle it between PTT one and PTT2, however, the PTT2 does not actually work in my configuration PTT1 works perfectly. You just hear the tone while it’s keying, but never the packet tones.
Thank you for any guidance or direction you guys can provide me.
