Taking RMv2 for a test drive & enjoying it so far! I noticed in the settings I am unable to add a tactical address through the “Add Account” menu. Will tactical callsigns be supported in v2?
Add Account is to add another Winlink account.
For tactical addresses, select your existing account. You can then add Tactical Addresses there.
That was too easy! I didn’t realize there was another menu hiding behind the callsign. Thanks!
We like easy! By iOS convention when you see a chevron > at the end of a field it usually means there is another sheet that can be tapped to.
Having created the tactical address, I can select it if I want to send a message but seemingly not if I want to send a form. It defaults to my Winlink account, even when the form instructions says I should be able to use my Winlink account or a tactical address. If I complete the form and generate the message, I can select the tactical address but it does not them update the forms or attachments. There seems to be something missing in the workflow to let me choose the from address before I start completing the form.
That is indeed a gap in use case I did not think about. Can you override the callsign prefilled in the form as workaround?
No, it could be overridden manually in the form. For this particular exercise, I fell back to Winlink Express, which allows selection of a tactical address before going into the form, so no worries for now. It would be great to have this capability in RadioMail in the future.

What happens if you select a tactical call before composing the form, then it gets attached to the email and you change the From on the email before sending. Does Express prevents you from doing that?
Your assumption is correct - apologies.
I tried it and, yes, Winlink Express does let me change the From after the form is completed and attached. It does not change either the text of the message or the contents of the attachments.

That’s probably an ok limitation. As long as forms are just dumb file attachments, there isn’t a lot of sanity check that can be performed. Maybe the form compose window can carry the user selection so when you land on the email compose, the From field is defaulted to your selection.

at that point where tacticals were added in the settings, in V1.x also auxiliary callsigns could be set. Is this planned in V2 or is it hidden somewhere? TNX!

Auxiliary callsigns have been dropped from v2. It did not seem to make sense to want to intermingle emails from other accounts into one mailbox. You can now setup another account and switch to it.
