Wifi drops out on Ardop

What Did You Do?

I have tried using both station and access point mode the radio and my iphone and ipad are both able to communicate with the radio (obviously not at the same time) i am able to connect to a gateway and sometime between the authentication and receiving portion of the connection the wifi connection from the radio drops out and i am unable to complete a session

What Happened?

the session stays connected to the remote station for a few mins then disconnects the radio then locks on transmit

What Did You Expect?

session should sync transfer mail then disconnect and return the radio to normal operation

IC-705 is known to have pretty weak wi-fi. How do you know that’s the wi-fi dropping? Try to move closer to the radio and/or wi-fi router.

The wlan box on the icom 705 display disappears at some point during the exchange…. sometimes during the handshake sometimes during sending of messages and sometimes during receive… i have tried it with the radio in station mode, access point mode, with my home network, using my phone as a hotspot and a travel router with the same results… about half the time after the wlan drops the radio will lock on transmit after radiomail releases the icom 705
