BTECH UV Pro peer to peer

I was testing Radioamil with a friend, peer-to-peer, yesterday. He was on a Windows computer, I was using BTECH UV PRO, and we were set on the same freq. on 2m. I connected and sent my message successfully. When it came time for him to send it to me, it was difficult. We had to coordinate over the phone when I should connect for him to begin his transmission. Am I doing Bluetooth incorrectly here? Is there a way to be ready to receive a peer-to-peer transmission as it is transmitted without pushing the connect button beforehand?

Peer-to-peer incoming connections are not supported in RadioMail. While it could technically be done, as you’ve experienced, coordinating a time window where your phone has to be on and connected to the radio, the app running in the foreground waiting for a connection is not very practical.

P2P receive over RF

As a Radiomail user, I want my iPhone to act as a P2P receiving station so two iPhones can exchange Winlink messages directly over RF without a gateway. Acceptance: add a “P2P receive” mode that listens on a selected mode, decodes and ACKs incoming P2P sessions, stores messages locally, and logs session metadata.
