Adds native support for the ARDOP protocol, giving faster, more robust HF Winlink sessions without needing an external modem.
Voted for this. Love RadioMail and it would be amazing to have an HF option like ARDOP to use while in remote situations or in the event of local power failure at gateways.
There is a preview beta build with ARDOP support available on TestFlight if you feel adventurous and want to help test:
Works best with Digirig lite or IC-705
Any chance of a guide on how to do this? I have paired ARDOP with the IC-705 but not sure how to proceed. Is audio routed to the radio via Bluetooth? Radiomail wants to route audio through the iPhone speaker and microphone.
For IC-705, plug via USB for audio. Bluetooth takes care of CAT control.
For other radio, use a Digirig Lite.
The radio’s Bluetooth audio interface is designed for accessories like microphones and headsets, much like how an iPhone connects to AirPods or a hands-free headset. Both the radio and the phone are expecting the other device to act as an audio accessory, not as a host. Since neither is designed to take on the complementary role, they cannot establish a direct audio Bluetooth connection with each other.
