First attempts succeeded

Good luck so far in my testing.

I have managed to connect to my local winlink server that I have been using for winlink. I did receive some messages

I sent a message from the app to my email and that was successful. Both with a and without an attachment.

I tried to send a message from the app to myself using my call sign. That did not seem to work. That is sending to my call sign and the connecting. Nothing was received. I have done that with the winlink tool on my PC and I figured the same would work with the app.

I did send and email to my winlink email and received it on the app!

Thank you

I am just using the app on my iPhone and relying only on internet/cell service for now.

I have not tried sending an attachment. I did send traffic to both regions 4 and 6 and 6 was delivered by a local ham same day, so outgoing works. 4 has not yet been delivered.

I send a message to my own call sign and did not receive it, but when I have sent messages to other call signs, the messages have been received.

I received an error message when sending to an external email address from winlink and when I sent a message TO my winlink address from an external email address, it was also not received.

Are there any settings I need to change on the app to make these other functions work?

I’ll eventually hook the app up to my radio.

Thx! 73

According to Winlink.org:

You can't send from within the system on client software to your own account because it would set up an endless delivery 'loop', so it's not permitted.

However, if you want to send a message for test purposes to your CALLSIGN@winlink.org<mailto:CALLSIGN@winlink.org> address using client software, do this:

1) Address your message to TEST@winlink.org<mailto:TEST@winlink.org>, and compose it otherwise as you wish.
2) Post it to your outbox, as you would any other message.
3) Open a session, a radio or telnet session, and send it normally.
4) Wait a minute, and connect again. The message you sent to TEST@winlink.org<mailto:TEST@winlink.org> will be returned to your inbox as if it came from another user with the TEST callsign.

Got it—Thx!

Also, I had Region 6 traffic picked up but none of my Region 4 traffic has been delivered. Is there any way to find out if it made it to Region 4 from Region 2?

Update: everything was delivered. Thx!

I have certainly sent an email to myself. No issues

I would think I could do this in winlink too. I do not see how it is an infinite loop. But if it is not allowed then it is not allowed
