New Topic
Aloha Georges,
After updating to 2.01, my iPad is missing most of its older messages, though new changes sync normally between devices. Before trying a reinstall, I wanted to check with you in case the iPad’s current state is useful for diagnosis.
Setup
• iPhone 16 Pro Max, iOS 27.0.1, RadioMail 2.01
• iPad Pro 11 inch 4th Generation, iPadOS 27.0.1, RadioMail 2.01 (auto-updated)
• Both on the same Apple Account
• RadioMail shows 89.1 MB under iCloud Storage → Others on both devices
What happened
1. I had been using RadioMail Beta 2, then release 2.0 and 2.01 on the iPad with mail syncing through iCloud. During the time I have been running v2 on the iPad, I have not used or updated v1 on the iPhone. RM v2 on iPad has been working fine for me since the beginning of the beta test.
2. I installed 2.01 on the iPhone. It asked whether to use the existing iCloud settings, and I said yes.
3. The iPhone didn't show my mailbox contents right away, but after a couple of minutes everything appeared.
4. When I opened the iPad (already auto-updated to 2.01), the mailboxes existed but were mostly empty. I am able to connect to my gateway and send tests from the iPad as before. And those tests show up in the Sent and Today mailboxes, but my past history is missing from Sent and Inbox on my iPad.
What does sync between the devices
• The smart mailboxes I enabled on the iPhone (Unread, Flagged, Today) appeared on the iPad. (Previously not enabled on the iPad running v.2.0)
• Test messages I sent from the iPad show in Sent on both devices.
• One message the iPhone fetched via Telnet shortly after the upgrade appears in the iPad's Inbox. It's the only message there. Under Mailboxes, both devices currently say "Updated 57 Minutes ago".
What doesn’t
• The older messages are all in the iPhone's Inbox, but the iPad's Inbox is empty apart from that one message. Those were present before the iPhone update.
My guess (unconfirmed)
The 2.01 update may have cleared or rebuilt the iPad’s local store while keeping its sync position. If so, the iPad would only receive changes made after the upgrade and wouldn’t download the older records again. Does that sound plausible? Would deleting and reinstalling on the iPad be the right fix, or would you like any logs or other information from it first?
Separate question: UV-Pro on the iPhone
Sending from the iPad over my UV-Pro still works. On the iPhone, sending gives a “no device configured” error. The UV-Pro appears in the device list, but tapping it reports that it can’t connect. I assume radios are paired per device and that the UV-Pro accepts only one Bluetooth connection at a time. Is the right approach to quit RadioMail on the iPad and pair from the iPhone?
Note: I keep automatic fetch turned off on both devices because I prefer to receive Winlink mail over radio.
Thanks,
