Yes, it’s an interesting development and high on my list of things I’d like to integrate.
Unfortunately, as things stand today, their decision to release it under GPLv3 only makes it impractical to embed in an application distributed through the App Store. The GPLv3 distribution requirements conflict with restrictions imposed by the App Store unless the copyright holders provide an additional compatible license.
I raised the issue with the team, but so far I haven’t seen any indication that the licensing will change.
I think choosing GPLv3-only was a short-sighted decision, as it unnecessarily limits where the technology can be integrated and distributed.
I’m going to wait for the gui version. I watched a video. It’s another, to damn hard, annoying, JSON type of document that relies on Hamlib. Vara may be kind of goofy looking but at least I don’t have to worry about stupid formatting when I type information in that brakes the whole program.
