My testing report (iphone, SurfaceGO2, iCom 7300 and 5100)

This is going to be a long one so if the title doesn’t mean anything to you, please scroll on.

Rigctld:

Downloaded the windows 64 but exe file and installed. Then to the command prompt with command rigcrtld -m 3073 -r COM6 (which is the port my 7300 is on).

iPhone:

Connected surface tablet to hotspot and determined by Lethe ip address of comp to he 172.20.x.x

Radiophone:

For varaHF used the above ip and default ports.
Sent and received no problem. PTT and Vara worked fine.

The mobilinked TNC I have is connected to an icom 5100 with a homebrew cable I made into a cat5 manual port splitter. No issues

For varaFM I plug another homebrew cable to the mic of the radio and use the computer sound card. Radio control I use 7100 on the varaFM program because it’s close enough to the 5100 that it works fine. I was unable to make a connection BUT PTT worked fine and vara worked fine. Note that I have NEVER made a varaFM connection as of yet but not for lack of trying.

This just shows that everything works on the apps end. I think I have issues on my end at least with varaFM.

Best
Danny

What are you using as your rig control daemon port in the vara hf modem settings?

I didn’t set it at all and went with the default of I think 43 something (I’ll check again when I’m back at my computer)

Thanks -
radiomail hits vara fm great but does not trigger the 7300 here-
works great on vara fm and the dra.
just can find a setting to get to the 7300 via civ even with rigctrl

It if you check the IP address before hitting done.. operator error
in rig control daemon for vara hf I have
host 192.162.0.22
port 4532
that worked great -- sorry for the confusion

Default 4532 I think it is
