Congratulations on this release, Georges! Looking at the description, it seems like my VARA could indeed use a nanny. What really caught my eye was the ability to switch between VARA HF and VARA FM quickly — particularly nice on my Icom 7100 with its VHF/UHF and HF capabilities.
Now, if you really want to make *me* happy, when can we expect RadioMail on the Mac? (I don’t mean to put you on the spot, sorry. But I will say I would LOVE to be able to run RadioMail from my Mac Mini desktop when I’m at my QTH or from my iPhone when I’m mobile. Just sayin’.)
Thank you and aloha again for your work.
Cheers,

RadioMail's goal has always been portability, focusing on iPhone first. While expanding to other devices like iPad and Mac is appealing, it also introduces the challenge of keeping messages in sync across different instances. Addressing this syncing issue needs to come first, before broadening device support.
+1 on prioritizing syncing. Right now I’m running almost weekly tests
between my iPhone and iPad. Having a mailbox in sync (maybe through iCloud)
would be awesome.
Thanks again for RadioMail, Georges!

Kiss support on HF would eliminate the need for Hamlib altogether and make radio mail, varrany and related setup so much easier.
Apps on the iPhone work so easily, but when you have to pair it with command line programs that require -arguments and -Linux knowledge as well as .ini files that look like PAT winlink config files it ruins the simplicity of the iPhone app and makes it less accesible to Joe Schmo.
It’s like pairing a fine, precision surgical instrument with a machete.
Just my sudo apt-get opinion.
Daniel, there should not be anything magical about using KISS port as it relates to CAT control since VARA FM is totally fine handling that when clients are connecting via the CMD/DATA ports. The limited CAT control in VARA HF is a specific design choice by the VARA author. It might be best to reach out to him for clarification? Also, is there any VARA documentation on the KISS protocol I could refer to? From the little I could gather it seems to be geared towards APRS / AX.25 which would not be applicable for Winlink. And remember, we do this not because it is easy, but because we thought it would be easy!
I want easy!
