Radiomail Troubleshooting

Up until recently I have had good success with Radiomail. Now no matter what I try my local Winlink nodes will not connect.

Things tried so far:

iPhone reboot
Bluetooth power cycling
Changed TNC from BBLink to TNC4
   Tried ID-52 and TNC4
   Tried FT-4 and TNC4
Changed locations
Changed antennas
Changed Winlink nodes
Updated BBLink firmware
Reset BBLink

The biggest noticeable change has been the lack of audible handshake with the nodes. When the system works there is a series of familiar squawks but those are missing.

I have tested the different setups with APRS.fi and that works fine.

What should I look at next?

Thanks.

Looks like you tried a lot of different configuration, so it’s hard to pinpoint.

In general, if RadioMail finds the TNC, then it boils down to RF/audio side of things

1. Does the radio key-up?
If not, with TNC4 it might be a misconfiguration of PTT, with a THD74 you need to make sure the KISS TNC is set to bluetooth
2. Do you hear the transmission if you listen on another radio?
3. Do you hear a response from the Winlink node?
If not the station is not online or you’re not reaching it
4. When using TNC4, are the audio level set properly?

The radio does key up and I can see the signal on another FM rig, but there
is no sound like you would expect with packet radio. It just makes a light
hiss like the mic is keyed but nothing else is going on.

KISS is set to Bluetooth on the D74.

I do not hear a response from the node (I don't think I am sending anything
it can hear to respond to), but I can hit it with another radio/TNC combo
so it is online and working correctly.

Yes, the TNC4 was working correctly when I used it last and nothing was
changed on it.
