RadioMail varanny QMX connection timeout

I need help in getting past this point in RadioMail:

*** Finding device QMX
*** Connection timed out.

I have successful connections through Winlink Express. Varanny successfully starts VARA and returns the current frequency from the QMX, but does not set the new frequency specified by RM or begin using the channel.

Varanny.json has the following definition for QMX CatCtrl rigctld 4-4.5.5 Args:

-m 2052 r COM3 -s 9600 -vvvv

Any ideas about what is happening?

I’ve also tried m -2057 with rigctld 4-4.6.4, same results.

Has anyone been successful with a QMX?

Just to be clear the rigctld args as tested are:

“-m 2052 -r COM3 -s 9600 -vvvv”

Is this possibly related to ipv6? RM times out after varanny reporting:

rig_set_cache_timeout_ms: called selection=0, ms=1000

main: Using IPV6

main: rigctld listening on port 4352

(Timestamp) Client closed the connection

And indeed RM times out after 1 second.

I should mention the varanny host is a Beelink mini s12 pro running Windows 11 . Firewall rules seem ok.

Solved:

Make use of hamlib-w64-4.7-git. None of the released versions of hamlib-w64-4.6.X worked. Make your rigctld -m parameter 2057 for a QMX.
