Testing New RadioMail (TestDrive) with LiNK500

Hi Georges, hi all,

I got the opportunity to test the new RadioMail version with the LiNK500 device .

It is fantastic how good it works. I can fetch station list from winlink server , connect to the LiNK500 via Bluetooth on my iPhone and connect to gateway nearby. It works out of the box and I could get my emails.

Thanks so much Georges, for all your effort here.

Will testing further…

Hello,

now I could test the Beta and in principe it runs smooth on Robust Packet.
Two points maybe should be worth to look at.

1) I don’t know if it is possible to have a progress indicator like in Winlink Express to see the status of the transmission

2) my connection today to DB0BES was under bad conditions so the transmission wasn’t successful. But there was no indication that the connection was lost. So maybe a timeout would be great. I don’t know how this is handled in Winlink Express where I get such a message.

Here is the protocol from this connection:

There is a progress bar but it measures the progress of message sent or received. It does not cover the preamble to establish the connection.

If the connection times out, there should be a message in the console. Is it possible that it was not completely timed out yet? The default timeout is 5 min. Did the control on the top of the dialog update to Done?

Hi Georges,

Maybe I didn’t wait enough time for the timeout - I‘ll try it tomorrow again and report here.

Good morning,

successful test this morning. See protocol. What I cannot test is to set frequency on my KX3 cause there are no setting options for this transceiver.

What I miss in the stations list is YT7MPB like Winlink Express list shows.

Thank for the great work Georges.

Thanks for testing again. Frequency control is not available. I don't know that is something that the TNC would support.

I see YT7MPB in the directory. Maybe you need to refresh: RadioMail > Settings > Directory and tap "Refresh Now"
