TNC4 auto discovery question

Hi Georges et al,

Just got a Mobilinkd TNC4 and I’m trying to get it running under RadioMail.

Using the MobilinkdTNC app on my iPhone, I connect over Bluetooth just fine. I can transmit a test tone, no problem. (Though, a tip - be sure to tune to a different frequency than your local club’s 2m repeater when testing this feature…

But, when I’m in RadioMail and go into Settings, I select Packet KISS TNC Modem, and the TNC4 does not get auto discovered.

Is there a setting I should set in the config app so that it will be auto discovered? Should I disconnect in the app? I’m sure I’m doing something wrong, but I’m not sure what it is.

Thanks!

Cheers,

Problem resolved.

I ended up doing two things: Turning on bluetooth access in the RadioMail app permissions (Settings), and turning off the MobilinkdTNC app. After that, RadioMail auto discovered the TNC just fine. Now for on-air testing…

I’ll be on the road for a couple days shortly, and I was hoping to test the setup from south east Ohio, but when I checked the RMS map, it turns out that part of Ohio pretty much doesn’t have any RMS gateways. So, it’ll wait until I get home.

But at least RadioMail is now communicating with the TNC.
