Just tested out Vara FM using PC running Vara with success. Fortunately I can hit an RMS directly. Is there an option for adding a digipeater/via with this Vara implementation? I know there are people in our area that are not close enough to a Vara RMS without digipeating. I tried a couple different ways of entering the station ID, but didn't seem to work.
Would it be possible to add an AX.25 connection in much the same way as Vara? I would think being able to connect to a soundmodem/direwolf KISS TNC on local network would also be advantageous. I know I've been waiting for a while to get my hands on a mobilinkd, it doesn't look like they will be available until possibly December at the earliest.
Other than those two questions, seems pretty solid, and has worked great!
Digipeater are not supported at the moment (packet nor Vara). Need to spend more time understanding of this works and re-create a test environment for it as none of the local station near me support this.
TCP/IP KISS TNC like Direwolf are supported. If they publish their configuration via DNS-SD, RadioMail will auto discover them.

Only the Linux version. So if you are using the Windows version of Direwolf (likely if you are also testing Vara), or using Soundmodem you are out of luck. Radiomail does not allow manual setting of the host and ports like all other applications do.
Excellent info. I couldn't figure out why my direwolf wasn't showing up as an option. This Raspberry-Pi is an APRS i-Gate, and was recently rebuilt. I forgot to include the "libavahi-client-dev" library before building direwolf. After fresh rebuild, now RadioMail sees the direwolf TNC with no problem!!!! I then used it to connect to local RMS with no issues! Thank you for the heads up.
I will look forward to digipeater support for both AX.25 and Vara hopefully in future revisions.
